MAURICE AGER (OF THE NJ NETS) 25TH B-DAY PARTY

Life is filled with age-old questions such as, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” “If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, does it make a sound?” Being an intellectual, I’ve fruitlessly sought the answer to another puzzle: “Who gets the hottest women… musicians or athletes?”

The scales tipped in favor of the athletes at the recent 25th birthday party of Maurice Ager, shooting guard of the New Jersey Nets.  The scene of this wonderful event was the Cain Luxe Nightclub in Chelsea, NYC.  On a regular night, a troublemaker like me would’ve been quickly stiff-armed at the door.  But thanks to Olivia and Nickee, the brains (and beauty) of Good Girl PR, the velvet rope that once separated me from the upscale folk was lifted.  Hallelujah.

Inside of the grandiose Cain Luxe, DJ Scoob Doo worked the 1′s and 2′s, spinning a playlist of fresh Hip-Hop hits. DJ Cipha Sounds of Hot-97 FM would maintain the energy level with a kinetic set of his own.  Plenty of celebrity guests dropped by to wish Ager a happy born-day.  Alesha Renee, the foxy host of BET’s pop-culture show The 5ive, graced the spot with her sexiness.  Rosci of 106 & Park politely declined my request for a photo with a cordial, “I’m sorry, sweetie.  I don’t take photos in clubs” (fill in your own joke here).  Ager’s teammate Vince Carter fled the Nets’ injured-list to join the celebration.  Cool dude, that Vince.

But on to the things that took precedence to me.  TY KU Liqueur was one of the party’s sponsors and provided free tasty cocktails. It’s low-calorie liqueur, not hard alcohol, so I drank a shitload of it just to get a buzz. Can you believe the bottle is equipped with a green bulb that literally lights up? That’s very practical; during a blackout, you can find your way around and get tipsy at the same time.  Lovely ladies of all shades, from all over the Tri-state area, flocked to Cain Luxe in droves.  Skintight micro-minis, low-cut blouses, hot pants… it was a fascinating sight to behold.  You’d think any dude less than 6 ft. 6 in. tall at an NBA player’s party wouldn’t get any love, but that wasn’t so.  It’s a small world, so I crossed paths with a few honies I know from MySpace; they were psyched to finally meet the guy who left all those lewd comments in their photo albums.  I got some math out of it, but all you E-thugs and keyboard killers take note.  Watch you talk smack about online, especially if you post your picture, ’cause you never know who you’ll cross paths with outside of the Matrix.

It’s still early in the year, but Maurice Ager’s B-Day bash has thus far set the milestone for the parties to come.  Ager and his crew know how to celebrate.  As for the eternal “musicians vs. athletes” question; what’s your stance, people?

a true alcoholic must’ve dreamed that idea up.

it’s pretty cool… but the light is stronger than the liquor itself.

I think its very refreshing. Its not meant to be like Bicardi 151…It goes down smooth and is an enjoyable taste.

Liquers generally arent that strong. They are meant to be mixed with other alcohols. From what I’ve heard, TY KU mixes well with pretty much everything.

Yeah, TY KU isn’t supposed to be strong, and yes, it mixes with practically EVERYTHING. And have you heard that it can even be considered “healthy”?? Well, as healthy as drinking can get anyways.

Talk about a drinker’s dream come true! TY KU is awfully close.
