THE BEST OF BLACK PACINO
Although I don’t think Drake is the second coming of Jesus that other folks tout him to be, he is a decent rapper. He’s doing big things and who can be mad at that? But, uh… there’s actually a Best of Drake mixtape out now. No disrespect to Drake but does this nigga deserve a “Best Of” compilation already? The average rapper’s career is shorter than a butterfly’s lifespan so I can understand the rush. But an artist with a “Best Of” compilation before he drops one full-length album is a little ridiculous, especially as we re-visit Michael Jackson’s hit parade. Yet Drake isn’t the first upstart to have a premature “Best Of” compilation. There were many others but I’m too stoned to think of them right now. Besides, fuck ‘em… this post is about me.
It’s quite possible that at 3 & 1/2 years I’ve been in the journalism game longer than Drake’s been rapping. So if these wet-behind-the-ears artists can have “Best Of” compilations, then sheeeeiit… why can’t Pacino? Below the jump I’ve compiled some of my most notorious stories from different sites over the years. Since The Spizzy’s audience keeps growing, this will help my new supporters and Facebook homies get up to speed on my catalog. True, they could search for “Khalid Strickland” at Google but I’ll save them the trouble of sifting through 10-plus pages of shit. Watch your step as you walk down this memory lane; it’s littered with empty liquor bottles, Dutch Master guts and expended .45 caliber shell casings.
