GRAF ON GRAF CRIME

IMG_2497

PHOTOS BY SUNDIATA ACREE

Sundi The Sniper took another trip to The Graffiti Hall of Fame in East Harlem. It was re-painted yet again for a new season. As always, my big homie got some nice shots of the artwork.

But if you thoroughly investigate the above photo, you’ll notice something that may make you shake your damn head. The symptoms of a chronic and hurtful disease.  Let’s zoom in…

IMG_2503

See those wavy silver and black lines spray-painted across the center of the piece? That’s the handiwork of jealous vandals, probably rival artists whose work isn’t up-to-snuff. As you’ll see in some of the photos below, the same haters also defaced other pieces of art at the Hall. Ain’t that some bullshit?

IMG_2502

In case you’re wondering, the disease I mentioned is called HATE and it’s a tough bug to cure.  Those infected should be stuffed in a giant trash compactor and crushed into a cube of quivering, bloody flesh.  Haters, please hit the comment box and explain your motives because I can’t comprehend.  Why do you enjoy sabotaging what other people work hard to accomplish, instead of bettering yourselves? Being a go-getter, I pity you losers.

Regardless of the hatemongers, we can still appreciate the artwork Sundi photographed.  Click the pic to enlarge.

Remember the slogan, folks: “Friends don’t let friends hate.” If you’ve got a buddy who’s a chronic hater, slap the shit out of ‘em and sober ‘em up.  Help make the world a better place.

i think graf heads need to bring back the old school beat-downs as well: LOCK IN A SOCK.

    what a cunty lil bitch.

  2. September 14, 2009 at 1:21 am #

ha! you took it back to classic stone-age goonery with that, jean.

lock in a sock… indeed, it gets results. my personal fave was the cue ball in a sock. swing that into a nigga’s teeth, problem solved.

whoever defaced those graf pieces is a real asshole & deserves that good-ol’ fashioned, lead-pipe attitude adjustment.

    Hello Sensei !!

It’s still amazing and wonderfull Art Work to me tho’,,, .

    I remember Basquiat.
I went his exhibition and touched his thing.
It was very bad to them…

By the way those hates just envy those arts’ power.
Haters are everywhere and they are just shit and sick.

    And one more thing.
    “caution” says,
    NO xxxxxxx.
    NO xxxxxx.
    NO xxxxxxxx…..
If “caution” is one of a hater!?

    It’s important to say “NO”
but ,,,, to me, too much “NO” in this “caution”.

    security is needed?

People want some when others say “NO”.
I think you know that, homie !!??

There was one of the Graf spot in Yokohama.
    But there’s nothing there now.

      My superstar student, whassup?
      ^_^

Jean-Michel Basquiat’s art is great. But you’re not supposed to touch the art unless you buy it, Kaoru LOL. It isn’t easy, tho. I go to art museums & galleries & put my hands on everything, you can’t help it.

That caution sign should have said “No hating.” Actually, those haters broke rule #1 on that list. “No painting without permit.”

But you are right, my friend. Too much “No” will make people want to break the rules. They said “No Alcohol” but I went to the Graffiti Hall of Fame drunk, with a beer in my hand. I wasn’t the only person to do it. I smoked weed there too. Shit, some of the artists were high too. There was no security lol

Lao Tzu said it best. “The more laws & order are made prominent, the more thieves & robbers there will be.”

I think I took a picture at graf spot in Yokohama. I’ll show it to you & you can tell me if it’s the same place. That was about 2 or 3 years ago.

oh man, that just breaks my heart! how can anyone be so low and disrespectful. Don’t hate them, pity them… the talented (who worked hard to be) will create wonders regardless, while the haters will stay shallow and void of any of the higher achievements they too could attain if they would only try. sad

    • September 14, 2009 at 3:15 pm #

Don Luchito, I’m glad you dropped by. You hit the nail squarely on the head & I couldn’t have said it better myself. I dig intelligent comments, Lord knows I never leave any lol.

Haters, listen to The Don. His two-cents may change your life.

This may be asking much, but fuck it, I am a dreamer. Not too long ago, maybe two years ago, a construction crew found a wall in a building that they were about to demolish that had graf work by Basquiat (All my zoes stand up) and Fab 5. It ended up being on display in a gallery. Maybe they should do the same for the these.
Or have someone guard the premises. The issue is money, though. Where would the funding come from.
Shouts to Sundiata for the nice pics

      Good idea, Bawsee.

Maybe these rich rappers who brag about wastin’ stacks on crates of bubbly & makin it rain should drop a lil’ sumthin to help out the Hall.

Then again, niggaz ain’t raise a finger to save the historical BX projects where Kool Herc & them basically birthed Hip-Hop, making it possible for everyone to get paper.

But you’re on to sumthin, tho.

        That’s what I’m sayin!

You claim to be “rollin wit da goons.” Or always have about 40 to 50 dudes on stage with you at the shows. How about you have some of them work at helping to preserve and protect the culture.

Ahh man, stop the hate people. Those lines on a work of art are just upsetting. Only one axiom comes to mind for chronic haters.

“Forgive them Father, for they no not what they do.”

    • September 15, 2009 at 1:12 am #

Word up. The Graffiti Gods will strike them down with a lightning from a holy spray can.

    Hey there!
I just found your blog and been having like a huge read on your stuff, but this has totally triggered my commenting. See, I might not be a good writer, but that shit right there is serious shit, I’m from Uruguay and I’ve recently started seeing this kind of stuff. Here the kind of hate stuff that goes on is mostly stencil writers vs real writers, for me it’s all bullshit, I mean, even if I loathe the stencil technique, I’m not gonna do that. Just the lack of respect in the whole scene is epic. Now I’ve seen vandalized murals and it kind of pissess me off when i noticed it was done by a rival crew or writer.
Well I guess I needed to rant a bit about it, cuz no one I talk about it here really gets what I mean and say it’s all cool and that it’s bound to happen.
Mediocre people just won’t cease to amaze me… and tempt my temper.
Huge hugs from the southside of the world. Keep the ill lines coming!
    xoxo
