Here’s a gem that stood out from the usual trash that clutters my inbox. Sav Killz, rough-and-tumble emcee from Brooklyn, finally drops Scratchin the Surface. Superstar Jay & J-Ronin handle the hosting duties while DJ Snips holds down the mixing.
Soft, cornball rap ain’t my thing. I like my Hip-Hop gritty with cold-ass beats and sharp lyrics. Well Sav delivers that and then some. Taking nothing away from Mr. Killz, the list of guest-stars is impressive: Planet Asia (a member of Gold Chain Military along with Sav), Skyzoo (the latest rapper I’ve interviewed), Guilty Simpson, Sha Stimuli, Donny Goines, Vast Aire, Hell Razah, Big Lou and others.
