Black Pacino: Why’d you hook up with Vicky Vette and the Vette Nation Army?
Francesca Le’: I had previously met Vicky when she worked for me in my production company, Le’ Wood Productions. I’d say in 2002 when she was making her first rounds in the adult business. So I shot her for a series that I own called Junkies. She was really sweet and she was kinda gone for a while. I keep abreast of what’s happening in our business and I saw she was doing big things with her network. I haven’t been happy with the web people that were doing my sites all these years. So I’m like, “If I run into Vicky I should talk to her and should talk to her and see if we can do something together. Also I know Sara Jay and I know Bobbi Eden and I know Sunny Lane, so I know all those girls and I know they’re all very cool too. So that was nice.
I actually met (Vicky) again when I ran into her at the Exxxotica show in Miami. We had a sit-down lunch and we discussed it. And I just like Vicky because she runs her site and she’s also a porn girl and not very corporate, like when I worked with other various internet-based companies. Vicky’s kind of like us; she’s a model and an actress and so I like that aspect of it. It’s kind of like when you make movies for companies and the owners don’t really know anything about porn. And they sit behind a desk and tell you how to do things. So that’s why I came to Vicky.
Pacino: How interactive is this site going to be? What’s going to set this site apart from the others?
Francesca: Well, I think the one thing about the VNA girls is we’re really interactive with all the fans and the members. They’re not just fans, they become friends and you strike up relationships with all the people that are members of your site. Also in the VNA Forum, you go on there and there’s all kinds of people talking and chatting all the time… even amongst themselves, not just with us girls. And also every day, if you’re a member of one of the seven sites, you’re getting a different porn girl on a candid cam show every day of the week, which is a little different from other people’s sites. So you’ll see me every week. I’ll do my show at the same every week and you’ll get to interact with me and with my friends, other VNA girls.
Pacino: Obviously you’ve found a way to take advantage of the internet but do you think the net has helped or hurt your industry?
Francesca: I think it’s helped and hurt it. Both ways. It actually helped the industry because it’s gotten us out there, we’re all performing stream (broadcasts) now. But it’s also hurt with the piracy and people stealing other people’s product and putting it up on the sites. We’re losing money. People don’t want to buy DVDs when they get it for free on the internet, you know? There’s always going to be porn and there’s always people that enjoy watching it on DVD. I myself, I’m older; I’m going to be 40 this year. So I can’t imagine jerking off in front of my computer. I didn’t grow up with computers and all that technology. I’m kinda old school where I like to watch my porn on a TV. But a lot of people, the new generation is accustomed to computers so they don’t mind jerking in front of the computer (laughs).
Pacino: It ain’t as bad as you’d think, trust me. I’ve learned to adapt.
Francesca: (Laughs) That’s funny.
Pacino: You’re a Hall-of-Famer and you have a legion of fans worldwide. What separates Francesca Le’ from all the other actresses in the porn arena?
Francesca: Well, for one I think I’ve been around a long time and I still look relatively good (laughs). I enjoy what I do and I’m not just in it for a paycheck. I still like to fuck and it’s still fun for me. And also, I’ve done so many different aspects of the business. I’ve done sales. I shoot my own camera. I shoot my own stills. I have a production company. I’ve worked in dungeons before… I do spanking, I do wrestling. I do everything. So I think that sets me apart. I’m not just under the camera; I’m all over the place. I think I’m able to reach more people; I’m not just being talent.
Pacino: That leads to my next question. You have your own production company, you direct and you do a lot of different things. What are some of the things you look for in both female and male talent when you’re scouting for your films?
Francesca: Usually when my husband Mark Wood directed at Red Light, it was really good because we shot a lot and if I was able to see a girl I really liked, I could test her out there, see how she was and if she was really good I might fuck her in my own stuff. So that was really good. Personality goes a long way too and I can tell by meeting the girl if she likes to fuck or not, or why she’s in the business. You’re able to pick it up. You know, certain people they have a sexual instinct about them. Like, “That girl is hot; she’s here for the right reasons. She’s gonna put on a good show and she’s gonna have fun.” It’s not always the most beautiful girls… where I think, “Oh, this girl is so beautiful” and she might not be such a good scene. I might put her on the box cover and everything. But if she doesn’t really want to be here or she’s not into the sex, I don’t want to really shoot her again, y’know?
So personality goes a long way too. Is she bubbly and fun? It’s my time too so I want to spend my time with good people. Yeah, we’re working and we’re making a film and everything but I want to have fun. I don’t want it to just be work all the time. So personality and if they like to fuck usually is my top priorities. Well, looks too. The same for guys. I like to book fun guys and people that like to be around. Guys that I really know love women and really are into the sex.
Pacino: Now for your scenes… as you know, I’ve interviewed a lot of your friends and a topic we always talk about are “no-lists” and “request lists.” People you like to work with and that you don’t like to work with. Without mentioning names, what would somebody have to do to get on your no-list, if you have one?
Francesca: Well my no-list is a little different from other girls’ no-lists. The men I have on my no-list are pretty much friends of mine that I’d just feel awkward working with. Like I said, my husband Mark Wood directed at Red Light for 3 years, so I’ve worked really closely with other directors and performers that worked there. So I choose not to work with them because we’re kind of like brother and sister… and they’d feel weird working with me also. It’s weird because some of the guys on my no-list are some of the top performers that I don’t get to work with because we’re all just on a friendly basis.
But other than that, I don’t have a no-list. I come from back in the 90’s where it doesn’t matter what you look like, you fucked whoever they put in front of you (laughs). Ron Jeremy, anybody, you know what I mean? It wasn’t a dating service. This is the guy you’re working with… okay, cool. You didn’t get a choice, that was the job. I’m not spoiled. I just see the penis, that’s it (laughs). I don’t see what’s attached to it sometimes. But I also have a list… obviously; girls have their favorites that they like. You look at that guy like, “Oh, it’s gonna be a good day” and you look forward to working with him. That’s good too.
Pacino: So how long have you and Mark been married?
Francesca: Nine years.
Pacino: Wow.
Francesca: Yeah. And people always ask how we stay together when we have sex with other people.
Pacino: You just predicted my next question.
Francesca: Yeah, I know. We fuck other people… that keeps it alive (laughs).
Pacino: (Laughs) Maybe if more married couples fucked other people, they wouldn’t get divorced.
Francesca: And it’s worse because porn years are dog years so if you’re together nine years it’s like twenty.
Pacino: Well, I would imagine unlike some married couples, the sex must be great. So do you have any tips you could give right quick? Let’s start with the females. What can females do to keep their man happy?
Francesca: I always say try everything once. So before you say, “No, I don’t want to do that” you should give the guy a chance and try it out. Just because you had a bad experience with it with one guy doesn’t mean take it out on the next guy. A lot of girls are ruined and they don’t want to do anal because the first guy they tried it with didn’t know how to do it right. The poor next guys are gonna have to pay (laughs). They’re going to have to suffer because of that one guy. So try everything out before you make a judgment that you don’t want to do it. Like, I think all girls should swallow but that’s just me.

Francesca: I just try everything but I’m kinda crazy like that. It takes a lot for me not to like something. And for guys I just say go slow with some of the girls. Just like Chris Rock says, they are fuckin’ nastier than you think they are. They want to do all that nasty shit, you’ve just got to try to get it out of them slowly. That’s the problem. Can’t go too fast with them. Usually after a few drinks they’re ready to check it out (laughs).
Pacino: Do you have a specialty? Is there a sex act in particular that you just excel at?

You’ve got to remember, it’s hard to find that many guys and to have them all tested and everything and ready to go that day. That was the most outrageous scene I’ve done thus far in my return to porn. And I don’t know, maybe in the future we can combine that: gangbang/bukkake altogether, I don’t know that’s a lot of people (laughs). Never say never. Before I retire I should definitely do another gangbang, you know?
Pacino: Go for it. You’ve been in the business for a very long time. Aside from the obvious things like the tube sites, how has the porn business changed since you began up until now?
Francesca: Obviously we’re more mainstream now than we were, which I think isn’t necessarily always a good thing. I liked porn when it was little more seedy and not so household name. The biggest part that has changed for me that I don’t like is that it’s very corporate and it’s not very family and a small group of people like it was before. You’ve got a lot more people in the game now as far as talent, the companies and people shooting and everything. And I just think that sometimes you work with somebody, you never really get to know them. You might never see them again for another six months or not ever shoot with them again, you know? So that’s a little difference that I don’t like. I like a little more close-knit kind of family where it’s a little more fun and not so generic… like you’re punching a number sometimes. You come to work, “Okay let’s get this done. All right let’s go on to the next movie tomorrow.” It’s really more different in that aspect. It is also good because we have a lot more new faces. So it’s good and bad.
Pacino: What advice do you have for a young, fresh-faced actress that’s just entering the game?
Francesca: I think first before you decide to do it, have a lot of sex and become experienced to know what you like. (Don’t) just go on MySpace and say “I wanna be a porn star.” Do your research. Research your name. I’ve shot so many girls in their first scenes. I shot one girl, it was her second scene and only the third guys she’d ever had sex with. That means she’s only fucked one guy in her whole life, then decided to do porn and her first scene was the second guy she ever had sex with. I shot her with the third guy she ever had sex with; she doesn’t even make a sound. Not a sound. And the only thing I could think of, my theory was… and I talked to Mark about it… my theory was she’s eighteen. Maybe she had sex in her house with her parents (around) and she just never made noise. So when she’s fucking on film she’s not making any sound, which is the craziest thing to me. And it’s like, why would you decide to do porn and you don’t even like dick yet? (laughs)
Pacino: That makes for a very boring scene.
Francesca: Yeah. It’s kinda like, go out and fuck a bunch of people and see if you like it. If you do, come into the business. Don’t do it for fame and fortune and all that. Yeah, it’s nice to collect a paycheck but not if you don’t really like what you’re doing. It’s not worth it and it shows on camera. So research.
