Congrats to my hometown Knicks ending our postseason drought and winning a playoff game after 11 years of futility. I still believe the superior Miami Heat will win the series and advance to the next round. There are plenty of holes this mismatched team has to fix during the off-season. Space cadet Knicks owner James Dolan, who surrounds himself with yes-men instead of true basketball minds who can construct a winning team, needs to fire himself. Too bad we can’t trade Dolan for Mark Cuban. But at least for one game, long-suffering Knicks fans can savor a long overdue victory.
Pretty much everyone heard the insane news that after the Knicks lost Game 2 of the series in Miami, Amare Stoudemire punched a glass case containing a fire extinguisher, shattered the glass and carved up his left hand.
Looks like a baseball, huh? Amare sat out Game 3 but he heroically returned to the do-or-die Game 4 and played better with one hand than he did all season with two. His 20 points and 10 rebounds, along with Carmelo Anthony’s 41 point outburts, helped secure a Knicks win. Still, a player who injures himself in such a foolish way is going to get roasted by the media and the public alike. Of all the funny pics and gif images I’ve seen, none was funnier than the animated video by Taiwanese animation group NMA TV. The infamous NMA is responsible for the hilarious Charlie Sheen’s Suitcase of Coke video and this brief clip, documenting Amare’s injury and his battle with Melo over more shots, is pure comedy gold.
