This past weekend (April 19th-21st), EXXXOTICA took place at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino & Resort in Atlantic City. Hurricane Sandy put a hurtin’ on Atlantic City not too long ago, so it was great that America’s largest love & sex expo gave the Boardwalk Empire a much-needed jolt of energy. But after seeing Gag Reflex, a decadent masterpiece directed by Jonni Darkko, I’m compelled to give a recap.  Darkko has done plenty of oral-themed flicks in the past but the sloppy, saliva-drenched action of Gag Reflex is his magnum opus.  “The wetter the better” is definitely the motto here and it isn’t a stretch to say this may be one of the best fellatio movies in porn history.

In nine sensual scenes of alluring POV glamour and full-on, hard-core filth, top XXX trollops lovingly bob on throbbing knobs, slobbering, sucking and, yes, gagging until their stunning faces are splattered with messy masses of sperm and spit.

That sums it up in a nutshell (“nut” being the key word) but it gets deeper (no pun intended).  Darkko is an all-around artist who produces his own drum & bass breakbeats, so the soundtrack is tight.  He’s also a skilled photographer with an excellent sense of composition, so the cinematography of Gag Reflex is a cut above the average point-and-shoot fluff.  Each girl gives a nasty lil’ soliloquy before they chow down on man-meat and their seductive outfits add to the appeal.  Reminds me a bit of how Michael Mann directed the original Miami Vice TV series; the colors of the room and wardrobe fell into place and all worked together like visual Feng Shui.

But enough with the artsy-fartsy shit.  Allow me to analyze this pièce de résistance, scene-by-slobbering scene, so you can fully understand why Gag Reflex is a bona-fide classic… and I don’t toss around the c-word very much.

DISC ONE

SKIN DIAMOND

About three years deep into the XXX game, strikingly-beautiful Skin Diamond is one of the seasoned vets in Gag Reflex.  In this scene she’s paired with Darkko and Asian stud Keni Styles, who take turns pummeling her throat mercilessly.  It’s just another day at the office for Skin, still looking great while she’s upside-down with gobs of drool streaming down her face.  Although she handled it with typical aplomb, this was no cakewalk.  The scenes on Gag Reflex are marathons, not sprints… each girl performs two back-to-back blowjobs. After going hard with Keni, Skin Diamond didn’t have a moment to clean up or catch her breath before Darkko plugged her throat again. Lucky she’s a natural beauty because they literally pound the makeup off of her face.

Skin Diamond takes the money shot with a satisfied smile, despite the punishment she endured. It’s a great opening scene, setting the table for what’s to cum.

MIA RIDER

A few weeks back, I interviewed Mia about her performance in this flick and she summed up her “training” with Jonni Darkko:

“This scene definitely is the best I’ve done and it’s like Asian Fuck Faces 1 was my elementary schooling, where I was introduced to it.  Throatfucks 4 was my middle schooling, where I’m getting my time in.  And Gag Reflex is where I’m graduating cuz I actually got to where I’m confident enough to put some performance element into it versus staying so focused on swallowing the cock!”

The hard work paid off because this is Mia’s greatest oral performance to date. Both of these young ladies are very attractive and great performers to boot… on paper, this pairing is tremendous.  Jynx & Gabriella juggle the tasks of gagging each other with a strap-on dildo and deepthroating Darkko.  It’s very colorful, fun and entertaining… but doesn’t match the intensity of the first two scenes.  Don’t get me wrong, Jynx & Gabriella get busy and by no means are they corny.  But after two perfect skull sessions, especially coming directly behind Mia’s blowjob-for-the-ages, perhaps my expectations were too high.  Still, it’s a nice little interlude before the next performance, which turns out to be eXXXtraordianry.

HEATHER VAHN

The energy level rises back up to a fever pitch with this scene.  Heather (pictured above) is the cover girl for the Gag Reflex DVD and she earned that spot with her sensational skills.  Heather Vahn is supernaturally gorgeous; a scale of 1 to 10 is not enough to measure her beauty.  However, by the end of her virtuoso performance that same flawless face is a red-eyed, saliva-coated, mascara-dripping mess.  She looks good deepthroating at every angle but when she’s on her belly (inspiration for the cover shot) she’s exceptional: her throat is impaled over and over again but there’s no waving the white flag.  She even gets into a “push-up” position where all of her weight forces her head down ’til the pole reaches the back of her throat, spit cascading down his shaft all the while.  No short strokes either… she goes slow and deep, inhaling every inch.  It’s an awesome sight to behold.

I’ll be looking out for Heather Vahn because as sexy as she is, she’s not afraid to do dirty work and go mega-hard.

ADRIANNA NICOLE

There has to be at least one reliable, battle-tested MILF in Gag Reflex and Adrianna fills that spot on the roster.  Her performance is solid per usual, like a starlet who’s been in the game since 2004 should be.  Her deepthroat methods are textbook; deep, wet and she doesn’t come up for air very often. She knows how to work the camera, messing up the leather upholstery she’s seated on, making it shine with spit.  No surprises here but Adrianna Nicole does what she does best and closes out Disc One like a trustworthy relief pitcher.

DISC TWO

ALLIE HAZE

The second disc opens with one of the most anticipated scenes on Gag Reflex.  Allie Haze (pictured above) is a certified dyme who spent a good portion of her career as a repressed Vivid contract girl.  Now that she’s free of those shackles, fans are expecting Allie to go in a nastier, more hardcore direction.  With this performance (as well as an action-packed performance in Elegant Angel’s Massive Asses 6), Ms. Haze has taken steps in the right direction.  The scene starts out a bit slow with the requisite teasing, sucking and licking.  Good sloppy stuff, but it’s almost as if she’s still in contract girl mode and hasn’t thawed out just yet.  She goes pretty deep but can’t quite get the whole thing down her throat.  That all changes halfway through the scene when Allie finally takes it balls deep and touches Darkko’s stomach with her nose. Although she can’t breathe, it’s almost as if the scene gets a second wind from here.

With her newfound skills, Allie throws caution to the wind and delivers one of the strongest performances of her career. Every stroke from here is to the hilt and as she looks up with tears streaming from her passionate eyes, it’s official: Allie Haze has reached a new plateau.  Can’t wait to see what she does in Jonni Darkko’s upcoming Suck Balls 3. Explosive opener for Disc Two.

BAILEY BLUE & CAMERON CANADA

The scene begins with the two hot blondes stretching in unison and doing yoga side-by-side to some thumpin’ background music.  Then the leotard-clad sluts get into some lesbian hijinks ala Black Swan.  So far, so good.  The lucky stud enters for Bailey & Cameron to devour.  Good double-team action, slightly better than Jynx & Gabriella.  After passing the cock back and forth like a saliva-dripping blunt, Bailey & Cameron are rewarded with a load of ball-batter to share.

ARIA ARIAL

This is a promising newbie you’d be wise to keep an eye on; a slender caramel beauty with a nice juicy butt.  Arial just did her first anal scene in Up That Black Ass 9 by LT and although her sample size is small thus far, she has potential for greatness.  Her scene in Gag Reflex, where she gets her mouth jackhammered by my dude Prince Yahshua, looked promising.  Arial’s definitely a showgirl: Her facial expressions and hand gestures are entertaining, sometimes comical. She even eggs Yahshua on as he holds her head steady and goes to town.

However, there’s no real deepthroat action here.  Plenty of “gluck gluck gluck” noises but her gag reflex certainly wasn’t put to the test like the other girls.  Aria wasn’t ready to go 12 rounds with a beast like Yahshua.  She spends a lot of time playing with the dick instead of throating it… she might as well have given him a handjob. Again, it’s still a solid scene and in any other movie, it may be a standout.  But on Gag Reflex, where the competition is *ahem* stiffer, she didn’t go blow-for-blow with the others.

Especially compared to the breathtaking climax, which cums next.

LUNA KITSUEN

Aside from Mia Rider, this is the scene I wanted to peep the most.  Luna Kitsuen is a newcummer who blows the biggest spit bubbles I’ve ever seen, hands down.  It’s a skill that immediately sets her apart from other girls in the industry.  On the strength of this one scene, I’m comfortable making this statement: LUNA KITSUEN IS ONE OF THE BEST BLOWJOB ARTISTS IN THE BUSINESS.  She totally steals the show and delivers not only the absolute best scene on Gag Reflex, but dare I say it… one of the most memorable deepthroat blowjobs ever recorded on video. This may come off as blasphemous but I’d rank Luna’s Gag Reflex performance with some of the best work from head-masters like Obsession, Janet Jacme, Kitten and the great Jazmine Cashmere. Seriously, she’s that good.

Whereas the other scenes start of slow and build to a crescendo, Luna Kitsuen goes for the kill immediately.  No grace period.  She goes deep from the jump with a python-like throat that slurps down every inch.  Luna controls her spit like Spider Man with his web shooters, spewing saliva and reeling it back in effortlessly.  It’s fuckin’ amazing.  She blows humongous bubbles on command that burst and cover Darkko’s shaft with a sticky glaze.  When Luna goes down, she stays down like Manny Pacquiao… you can count to ten before she needs an oxygen break.  As good as the rest of the movie is, Luna Kitsuen is what makes Gag Reflex a must-see.  It’s unfortunate that the candidates for Best Blowjob at the AVN’s and Fanny’s have already been nominated; Kitsuen could and should win easily, no contest.

A performance this perfect is a gift and a curse for Luna.  No doubt it will earn her a shitload of new fans and have every company in Porn Valley wanting to hire her.  But it sets a bar so damn high, it’s going to tough for her to match. The expectations are through the roof for her now.  Even if she retired today, Luna Kitsuen is one of my all-time favorites based on a single performance.

Final Thoughts:

I bought Gag Reflex and it’s worth every penny spent.  On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this double-disc set a 9.5.  What keeps it from being perfect are the threesomes (two girls & a guy), which I think slowed down the momentum.  They add spice but they’re not as focused or intense as the mano-a-mano action.  Also, Aria Ariel was good but not great like the other performers.  Swap these scenes with skulls sessions from Asa Akira, Beauty Dior, Jessica Bangkok or Sheena Shaw and automatically this becomes a flawless movie.  Still, even the average scenes on Gag Reflex have way better oral action than other flicks.

Gag Reflex is without a doubt one of the best fellatio movies I’ve ever seen and is arguably one of the all-time greatest.  Jonni Darkko is a helluva producer and a good representative of porn-as-art.  He tops himself with this epic.
